Pol Chambost – Lamp 1071

940

Like most of Pol Chambost’s creations, this ceramic has a number that identifies the model. The pitcher n°1071 could be seen on the Pol Chambost stand at the Xth Salon des Ateliers d’Art in 1955. However, the version presented is a rare variation in a lamp in a deep black enamel.

BIOGRAPHY

In 1932, Pol Chambost (1906-1983) began his activity as a ceramist. He models then a production essentially utilitarian but also funerary. However, it is his creations of the 1950s, notably presented in the gallery of Jean Royère, that will make him famous. His creations with pure forms, most often black or colored, symbolize this period.
